02 May Mother’s Day Gift Ideas
One of the best reasons to travel is to visit family. It was how we all first started traveling (to Grandma’s house when we were four) and it still plays an important role in our travel plans. With Mother’s Day coming up, we thought we’d highlight the importance of family travel to everyone’s travel plans. All of us here at Flightline Travel have fond memories of visiting Grandparents, Aunts & Uncles and cousins when we were young – my grandparents and cousins all lived in what seemed to be exotic places, especially to a young girl growing up in the south: my grandfather and cousins lived in NYC, so visits there were always super exciting; my other set of grandparents lived south of Pittsburg in a beautiful but desperately poor and tiny mining town which felt like another world; and other extended family were in Pittston, PA which again was always so different and exciting for us to visit.
All of our travels were always by plane since we lived so far away from relatives and the flights were a highlight of the travel during my childhood– we’d leave before sunrise, all dressed up, get pinned-on wings from the flight attendants, eat candy during the flight, and look out the window at the country below. I think these flights probably began my love affair with travel.
This time of year, following spring break and Easter and now Mother’s Day, is a huge time for family travel by airplane. You won’t be alone on the flights, that’s for sure, but you also won’t be alone when you arrive at home but will be surrounded by friends and family – and that is the real purpose of travel. If you don’t want to show up empty handed and are looking for a great gift for Mother’s Day, we can recommend our Flightline Travel Tote. Many mother’s love our purple pyramid tote but if your Mother prefers the more versatile black Iguana tote, we know she’ll be happy that you remembered her with such a thoughtful gift and that she has such a great travel tote to use on her future travels! Happy Travels home!
